Synergy Futsal 2013 SFAL Champions!!!!
Synergy's Varsity Futsal team completed an undefeated season by winning the SFAL 2013 Futsal Championship vs Kittridge. It is the second consecutive year that Synergy has won a Championship. Last year a team composed primarily of the same players won the Junior Varsity Championship also going undefeated.
The future looks bright.
In another note. The Girls Varsity lost in the semifinals derailing their chances for an all Synergy Varsity Championship. Good job by all four teams.

Tuesdays Boys Varsity Playoff results
On Tuesday the Boys Varsity team lost to KIPP. The team was playing shorthanded due to the absence of the 8th graders who were away in Costa Rica. The remaining players gave a gallant effort as they lead after 1 qtr of play and only trailed by 5 (19-14) at halftime. The team hung around in the second half and was always in striking range until a late push by KIPP gave them the game going away. The effort by the boys was very special and they displayed a fight and desire that we all can be proud of. The team finished the season with an overall record of 5-2.
Note: The game gave us a view into the future as all 8 players who played are eligible to return next year.

Basketball Playoff Results
On Monday the Boys Junior Varsity lost to Kittridge by a score of 27-20. It was a game of ups and downs. Kittridge jumped out to a 10-2 first quarter advantage. Synergy stayed even with them in the second quarter and trailed at halftime 18-10. After the third quarter the score was 18-16 Kittridge. Early in the 4th Quarter Synergy tied the score at 20 and had several chances to take the lead but had some great opportunities but just could not convert. They finished the season with a record of 4-3.
Also on Monday the Girls Junior Varsity advanced to the Semi-Finals on Thursday with a hard fought 16-15 victory versus SF School. This was also a game of several changes in momentum. Synergy led through out the game by atleast 8 points and had to withstand a furious rally by SF School to advance to the next round of the playoffs. They will face Kittridge School at 5;15 at Burke. The team only had two loses all season and they both were to Burke. They currently have compiled an overall record of 5-2.
Both Games were played at the Ella Hill Hutch Community Center and hosted by Creative Arts.
